"I came throughout this Huckleberry Cake recipe some years ago and changed it a little. The cake is first rate even without the topping! Garnish with sliced almonds and serve with a dollop of whipped cream."

- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda

- 1 egg, gently crushed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 half of cups brown sugar
- 1 half of cups huckleberries
- half of cup sliced almonds for garnish (optionally available)
- 1 half of cups whipped cream for garnish (non-obligatory)
- TOPPING
- half of cup brown sugar
- 1/four cup white sugar
- 1/4 cup rolled oats
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
